Dear friends,

With the first days of summer, I have the pleasure of giving you some news of our artists.

With the first days of summer, I have the pleasure of giving you some news of our artists.
Before, theatres close and we leave for the festivals and the beach, I wish to inform you that Young Canadian soprano Guylaine Girard is to make her Paris debuts at the Bastille with the title part of Louise ( Charpentier). Her interpretation of the part of Rozenn in Liège’s production of le roi d’Ys has been very much praised while she is about to sing in the most prestigious opera houses. This summer you will hear her in Montpellier for Honneger’s Le roi David, while, tenor Frank Cassard will be Volker in Oscar Strauss sacrés niebelungen.
Kobie van Rensburg is making his debuts at the Teatro Real de Madrid with his signature part of Idomeneo.

At the other end of the world, Gabor Bretz will be singing the title part of Don Giovanni in Sydney after having sung a triumphant Château de Barbe bleue at Teatro alla Scala.
Back in Europe, you will be able to hear Kristin Lewis as Aïda at Savonlinna festival and Warren Mok as Faust in Boïto’s Mefistofele.

To celebrate the Aix en Provence Festival’s 60th anniversary, the great Finnish soprano Karita Mattila will give an exceptional recital with melodies from her homeland as well as works from Dvorak, Rachmaninov and Duparc . Not far from Aix, in Orange you will hear Inva Mula as Marguerite from Gounod’s Faust alongside Roberto Alagna under the baton of Michel Plasson in a Nicolas Joel production.

Sylvie Valayre will give a recital at Antibes festival. Going down south, you will hear Misha Didyk in Macerata, Marzio Giossi in Torre del Lago Festival etc.
Juliane Banse will be Ilia at the Bayesrischer Staatsoper Festival in Munich.

Our young artists have have been pointed out in recent weeks: the young and talented Gabrielle Philiponet received the prestigious award from the city of Brussels at the Queen Elizabeth singing competition in Brussels last month . She will sing Corinna from the Viaggio a Reims tour, organized by the CFPL while James Elliott will be Belfiore. The young baritone Nicolas Rigas has been noticed, singing the Four Devils in the production of Les Contes d'Hoffmann organised by Opera Outdoors and directed by Julie Depardieu.

It remains for me to wish you a very nice summer and I look forward to giving you news from the agency’s artists in September.

With my best regards
